Hillary Rodham Clinton will host a dance party for black voters following Super Tuesday!
You read right. Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton just announced an upcoming dance party for undecided, black voters called Whip it, Nae Nae and Vote!
The function is inspired by Clinton’s noteworthy guest appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show in which Ellen’s cohost, tWitch, taught an eager Clinton the hip new dance craze Whip it Nae Nae. Clinton’s campaign director recently spoke on the matter, stating:
Our Ellen appearance was a big hit. We’d love to connect with a similar audience again in a more intimate setting to inspire a vote. Really, a dance party seemed the perfect next step.
According to Clinton’s camp, the shindig will include a full buffet preceding the main event comprised of “soulful, southern-inspired cuisine” such as corn bread, collard greens and “finger lickin’ good sweet potato pie.” A full bar sponsored by Hennessy will be free to all attendees throughout the night with special drinks like “Fuzzy Nae Nae,” “It’s Grape to Vote” and Clinton’s alleged favorite, “Watermelon Crush.” Star cameos include Rapper T.I., who just signed on as celebrity DJ of the night, plus special guests Raven-Symoné and Stacey Dash.
The festivities take place amid recent critiques citing the former Secretary of State’s difficulty in connecting to African Americans on the campaign trail in spite of numerous efforts. Will Whip it, Nae Nae and Vote! be a hit? We’d love to read your comments below!
